All customs should be in one forum, in my opinion.

Maybe a custom forum and a "castle customs" and a "custom minifigs" subforum.

Why can't customs just go in the completed MOCs or WIPs forums? Do they really need to be segregated?

Why can't customs just go in the completed MOCs or WIPs forums? Do they really need to be segregated? Probably for the same reason we split up the LoR into subforums. It makes it easier to find different types of work by builders if they are given their own section. Classic Castle, for instance, had a castle customs and then just castle MOCs as well. Saying that also reminds me, I would like to recommend that we change the name of the "Completed Builds" section to something more interesting, and less vague. Since this is a castle/medieval/fantasy based forum, perhaps we should name it accordingly. Castle Builds/MOCs Medieval Builds/MOCs Fantasy Builds/MOCs I'm certainly open to other ideas for a name. The one at the moment just seems a little too plain.

How do you get custom colored screen-names? I saw General JJ and Mitah have blue and green screen-names with the titles of Garheim and Lenfald.
Can you guys (the admins) change my color to red, and put "Loreos" as my title?

You can do that yourself. Just add yourself to the recently created "Loreos" group. (Profile > Groups)

One nice feature that could be implemented, would be a button that would show you what each of the current "Online" members are doing, or viewing.

For some time the add banner was gone, but now it is back again. Can't you get rid of that?

We have to pay for ad-free page views. David bought over 60,000 page views and we burned through that in less than two weeks. Ads might be a necessary evil unless someone wants to pony up $40/mo for all of the page views

That sucks ... paying for each page view. I don't think I like this proboard forum, it might be better to have your own server and install some free forum software, but I see that this is much easier and there are some nice features too.

I don't think I like this proboard forum, it might be better to have your own server and install some free forum software, but I see that this is much easier and there are some nice features too. Bentoft: This should be resolved. I have been crazy busy at work otherwise you guys wouldn't have seen the ads. My intention is for us to have an easy to use forum that is simple to maintain. When first looking at solutions, I wanted something that we could easily administer and would require as little maintenance as possible. I have build several of forums over the years using several different free platforms including PHPBB like what CC is built on. I also have access to a datacenter I built and free hosting, but nothing Is ever really free and the goal of the site is to keep the control of the boards in the hands of the community. I like how decentralized this solution is. The good news is that the traffic is greater than anticipated. The cost is less than half of what AK mentioned as I think he was referencing buying blocks of 50k. I bought 100k views and we blew through them quick! This is a good problem to have and I have moved us to a subscription. Long term we will work to get some great sponsors who will help keep the site running and hopefully offer benefits that we can pass on to the community. Until then, I will take care of everything to help the community grow. Also each of the "Innkeepers" has also pledged their support as well. Once we get past this week, We will finally be able to start some of the great features that we have planned and we will also be rewarding our first monthly build winner! I think we will probably do 2 as I missed March. Bear with us! David

David, one possible reason you are burning through views so fast is because it's so much better forum architecture than CC. I'm far more active here because it's so easy to use, and that "New" Participated feature is actually a bit addictive...so I should be working on my GC7 entry but here I am...

I agree with Gary completely, these forums are addictive!
David would it be possible in the future to have a paypal link present somewhere, that individuals could donate to the costs of running the forum. It wouldn't necessarily have to be on the front page, but found in an FAQ section like, "How can I donate to the forum?" with a link to the location.
I wouldn't mind donating a little bit every so often to help offset the costs of the forum.
Just some food for thought.

I'm with you there, Gary. Whenever I g on the computer to check Flickr and this site, I usually end up posting for half an hour. I think I'm in severe need of counselling for my addiction....
