I had a couple of questions regarding this forum game:
1. What kind of technology is allowed? It seems Outlaws have magic. Do any factions have rudimentary gunpowder? Pistoliers?
2. I am working on a character right now. The primary colors are black and white, but they use the black and white black falcons shield. Does that mean they automatically go to Garheim? I could use blue plumes or whatever to try and show they belong to Garheim but the general dress and colors of various figs for my character does not include blue.
3. In terms of how you tell your character's story, does everything have to center around that character? In my story, I'd like to involve my character's daughter, wife, or nephew. The overall story pertains to my main character, but some MOCs I would imagine would star a different character while my character is imprisoned or whatever. Is that allowed? How are other characters besides your main character handled?
Thanks in advance!

Hey gamjuven! 1 - No gunpowder allowed (at this point) 2 - I think the "new" black falcon shield is probably in a gray area as to whether it belongs to Garheim or not. As long as you use the blue/dark blue banner in your builds (or a digital version of the Garheim crest), then the colors do not need to necessarily be incorporated into your troops. See an example of some of my men below: United Army of Garheim - Factions by Jordan, on Flickr 3 - You can use a secondary character, and as long as the stories are centered around your character's sphere of influence (family, friends, associates), then that's typically fine. The idea is to somehow advance or add to your character's story as you go along, and we recognize that secondary characters are often needed toward that end.

Thanks! I am using those same torsos for my generic troops. Difference helmet and legs though. Also not using the dragon scale guys in this faction.
But thanks for all the info! Looking forward to continuing to work on my faction and eventually contribute.
I'm also curious why a member cannot have multiple characters from other factions? Why can't I create a Lenfald character that's completely independent of my original one? What if you have a different username then? Would that work?

Why can't I create a Lenfald character that's completely independent of my original one? What if you have a different username then? Would that work? Since there are regular challenges that pit one faction against another, it is required that each person only participate in one faction at a time, in order to avoid conflicts of interest. Besides, no self-respecting Garhim would want anything to do with being a dirty Lenfel! Where's your faction pride, man??

Remember, just because your character is in one faction, that doesn't mean they are restricted to that region of Roawia or can't interact or have friends/relatives from other factions. In fact those things are encouraged and make things a lot more realistic in my opinion.

Quick question, do we have an informational thread about all members of the Kings Council? Like their names, and who they represent?

Could they be steam powered cannons because these tanks are based of the war hammer tanks which actually use steam pressure to shoot the cannon balls. If not I will try to replace it with a crossbow or archer slots.
any ideas on a clip fed crossbow?

Firstly Halfginger welcome to Lands of Roawia and Merlin's Beard. It's great to have you on board! I've moved your post out of the Loreos thread and into the FAQ thread here where it is probably better placed. It looks like you'd like to participate in the Lands of Roawia role-playing game and join the faction of Loreos. To do so, first you need to sign up. It's a simple process and all it involves is posting a picture of your character, together with a short back story in the sign up thread here. Scroll through and look at some of the previous examples for ideas/inspiration. Once that is done I'd also post you character in the Loreos thread so your fellow faction players can meet and greet you. Your faction leadership are thedonald13 and The Brothers of Torith who should be able to help you out with any Loreos specific questions. Unfortunately as AK_Brickster pointed out we don't allow gunpowder. Steam engines or steam power are also pretty much out. Basically we try to stick to either a high fantasy type setting or the historical period from the dark ages to the late middle ages. Some type of clip feed crossbow would be acceptable (after all these existed in the time frame in the East). While magic is allowed it is mainly confined to the Outlaw lands, or is kept pretty much underground in the other three 'civilised' factions. Technology is kept to pretty much what you could except to find in the historic time frame mentioned above. If unsure just ask, this thread is a great place for these kind of questions. Feel free to go back and read what others have previously asked, it may answer some of your questions and there is a summary on page one of this thread. Again welcome, please don't be discouraged by the fact your excellent steam punk creations don't really fit into our world. Hopefully you'll find lots of other great ideas to pour your creativity that do! I look forward to seeing what you come up with - and again, any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

I was wondering approximately how many years have gone by in Roleplay since the War of Loreesi Aggression? I plan on referencing back to it and want to make sure that I stay accurate.

The KC decided to go against tracking of time, seasons and money (so I said and created the Draco coinage for Lenfald anyway...) I would say at least three years. When you think about all the crazy stuff that has transpired, it has to be 3+ but no more than 5 years. SaveSave

Perhaps a rough timeline will allow for more story telling. Or if you read game of thrones once in a while Martin drops a line for about how many years past since the first chapter of the first book. By book four its roughly two - three years.

I have a questions about the Great Western Isles. Do they all have similar climates? Also What are their size in comparison to the Mainland? Is there any place on the Mainland with a similar climate assuming, all of the climates are relatively the same?
