This is the first set in what will be my series of custom modular Castle sets (with numerous towers/gates/and wall sections that can all be hooked together). It is similar in size and part count to what an official set would be. The tower/wall can hinge in two spots, has a secret door hidden in the wall and a full interior in the tower. The trebuchet actually works and is a lot of fun to play around with. Total piece count, including figs is 406 parts. See the trebuchet in action here:link Price for the complete set is 65$ Without the minifigs: 50$ For just the wall/tower and defending soldiers: 40$ And for the trebuchet and attacking soldiers: 20$ All prices include shipping to anywhere in the US For more info about purchasing a set, see here: link C&C welcome

This set is nice, Soccerkid, but you are going to have to drastically cut your prices if you intend to sell it.
Despite high piece count, the set is relatively plain, and not very large. You need to use less pieces by trading out smaller parts for bigger ones (in order to maintain the same set size), and trade in the advanced techniques for more basic and rudimentary styles of building. I would also suggest giving the minifigures a sense of uniformity, as they seem a little slap-dash at the moment.
The absolute maximum I could see this set going for would be 40$, and that is tremendously pushing it. For 40$ I could get a Mirkwood Elf Army set (which contains valuable minifigures, a warg, and some nice pieces) and still have 10$ left over. I would say 25-30$ is what most people would pay for this set.

@andered: Actually I already have one customer lined up for this set... If you look at any person selling custom LEGO models the prices are way higher than official LEGO sets. LEGO is a large company that mass produces their products. I am not trying to compete with official LEGO sets. There is no way I can make custom sets for anywhere near the price that LEGO sells theirs. What I am trying to do is offer modular Castle sets that are slightly more advanced and utilize more generally useful castle parts (more aimed at AFOL in other words) than what LEGO is currently offering. I am sourcing the parts for these sets through Bricklink, in parts alone the cost for parts (without shipping) is over 40$. When you factor in the cost of shipping to get those parts to me, and the cost of designing the set/instructions, I'm not making much profit at all. Which is ok with me. But I can't produce these sets if I don't sell them for what it costs me to make them. mpoh98: Thanks Matthew, and see above for the pricing issue

Ah, now I see. That makes perfect sense.
