Retaking The Guard Tower.
Tabby and Egg had promised Lord Ulfredd that they were under no circumstances attempt to enter the Guard Tower while it was being retaken from the Queen's men. They were would be battle and that was no place for children. Tabby agreed with a spark of defiance in her eye. Egg was shocked. How could Lord Ulfredd hope to succeed in armed conflict without the mighty combat skills of 'Sir Elgarin The Mighty'. He began to protest but Tabby led him away and when out of earshot of her father she told him with an evil grin that she had a plan. "Oh no", said Egg, "This is not going to be good."
Once Lord Ulfredd and his men left for the assault on the Guard Tower Tabby and Egg quietly slipped out of the keep and raced ahead of them. Once they got near the tower Tabby revealed her plan. They would not enter the tower as they had promised but instead they would distract the Red Dragon Guard on the door allowing her father and there men to get into the tower before it could be closed and bolted. Egg looked worried. "I hope you are not planning on anything dangerous My Lady", said Egg. She said that she would simply get the guards attention and run around the corner where they would 'deal with him'. Egg looked over to the tower and he became alarmed. "There are defenceless chickens on the battlefield My Lady!", said Egg. "Oh dear her we go again......", said Tabby. "The chickens will be fine, don't worry about them," said Tabby. Tabby recognised the look appearing on Egg's face. Before she could grab hold of him he was racing for the Tower. "Egg, COME BACK!", she yelled.
All Tabby could do was to race after him and hope the guard hadn't noticed them yet. Once Egg reached the tower he ran right past the guard at the door scooping up chickens without slowing and starting to disappear around the corner. "CHICKEN THIEF!", yelled the guard. "COME BACK HERE WITH THOSE CHICKENS!" and ran after Egg. At exactly the same moment Lord Ulfredd and his men charged up to the tower and ran into the tower. Before the guard ran around the corner Tabby managed to jump up on some crates and get ready. As the guard ran past she sprang into action.
