Drinlarr wasn't sure what to make of his current opponent. The evil imp appeared to be no match physically for the mighty barbarian, but was obviously skilled in magic and very light on his feet. Drinlarr was glad he'd swapped out his clunky warhammer for the fallen Astrid's spear, as he'd likely have an easier time landing a blow with the lighter weapon against his shifty adversary.
Gathering what strength he had left, the barbarian forged ahead and into the fray, determined to defeat the little creature and finally gain his freedom from this infernal labyrinth!
Drinlarr submits all his remaining points: 4 Skill 6 Strength 2 Magic
(He has 5 health and 4 luck remaining)

The stout barbarian grasped the spear and flew into a rage, his last-ditched attempt to gain his freedom. What followed was a battle almost beyond comprehension. Magic versus might, confusion versus courage, illusion versus ingenuity, sorcery versus sturdiness...
Drinlarr: Strength 6 + dice 4 = 10 Ezam: Strength 5 + dice 2 = 7... Ezam loses 3 health (12 remaining) Drinlarr: Skill 4 + dice 2 = 6 Ezam: Skill 5 + dice 3 = 8... Drinlarr loses 2 health (3 luck remaining) Drinlarr: Magic 2 + dice 3 = 5 Ezam: Magic 5 + dice 3 = 8... Drinlarr uses 1 luck to avoid 3 damage (and certain death).
The barbarian huffed and puffed. "You'll need to be smarter than that!" he bellowed at the imp. Ezam just smirked "I'm only getting started" he retorted with a wicked smile cracking across his putrid face.

"Hahaha!" the imp cackled "you are growing slow!". Drinlarr ignored his wounds and attempted to clear his mind, he could feel his life-blood draining from him. He wouldn't die, not here, not now he thought. He imagined a warm fire, a goblet of ale in his hand and a chicken thigh in the other. He would live to fight another day, if it killed him.

The barbarian dived out of the way of a magical blast, landing heavily on the stone floor. The floor continued to shake... looking around he realised the room was beginning to crumble. The warrior looked at the imp, "It appears your powers are waning you impetuous pest! Now be gone! My victory beckons!!". And with that, he struck again at his captor...

Drinlarr paused, then looked down at his stomach. It had been pierced by a spike. He felt the wetness of his own blood but it took him a moment to realise what had happened. He slumped to his knees and attempted to pull the spike from his gut, but his sinews no longer held the strength. He dropped to his side as his vision blurred, the sinister cackles of Ezam echoing into the distance. Instead he heard the clinks of goblets and the cheers of merry drinkers. He felt the warmth of a burning fire heating his failing bones. He could feel pain in his stomach and thought he must be getting hungry. He let his eyes close and his body relax into the large fireside chair, someone would be over with his favourite ale and a hearty meal soon (Drinlarr loses 3 health... and is dead).

The Final Three...
The walls of the labryinth shuddered and shook. Rubble fell from the ceiling as the walls crumbled and cracked. The remaining three warriors knew that time was running out, it was time to run for their goal or become entombed in the maze forever.
Malekk the Warlock, Sling Mau the Ninja and The Doctor looked around their individual chambers and realised they would have to make their decisions quickly.

Once you have all submitted your choices I'll roll a dice to decide who moves first. If no-one reaches the centre then we'll all go again.

Everything was trembling; Mau knew he needed to hurry on. He thought he'd head Right {which is south, which is down}, then left {which is east, which is sideways}, then straight, {which is east again} unless he ran against the exit before that... (now... I think that will take me where I need to go; so is it good enough to do only one direction? If I'm wrong do I lose the other two choices? or will I get them later? Anyhow, I'm pretty positive one south turn will do it...).

Malekk, still furious at the missed opportunity of combat, took a breath to calm himself. He reached out with his senses to detect the magic of the fleeing barbarian and was not disappointed. His companion tasted the blood in the air and urged him on with violent images of victory and glory... -------- I am so lost but AK chose north last turn after fleeing(!). So thats the way Malekk must go, to the center to face the trickster ezam!

The doctor after spending some time trying to catch the Phoenix finnaly succeeded. And managed to get a good look at the beautiful bird.
But just as quickly as he had got the bird settled down it burst into flame as sounds of a fight and possiably death came from another part of the maze. The doctor decided to go back the way he came and give the locked door another try.
Doctor chooses to go south,then if door is still locked east and then South again.
(Also will have a quick build of the doctor and the Phoenix tomorrow at some point. I had completely forgotten about it.)

The crumbling Labryinth
The stone walls continued to shake in the tremors. "It's time to get moving!" announced the Doctor to no-one but himself. He headed what he knew to be south. The chamber had 4 doors, he tried the one straight ahead but it was still locked. "Blast!" he cursed, and headed east into an identical chamber. It was empty so he headed south again. The room shook and crumbled, with the doctor losing his footing. The door to the west was also locked. "Blast!" he cursed. Things were not looking hopeful, though he could feel he was near.
-------- The Doctor has three moves but fails to make it to the centre.
Sling Mau the ninja nimbly side-stepped falling debris as he made his way south. As he entered the room he heard a growl, an a vilderbeest turned to face him. As it approached, and the warrior drew his sword, the room shook again. A large slab fell from the ceiling slamming into the beasts head and killing it dead. Mau avoided the body just incase and headed east. The chamber was again empty though Mau could sense someone had passed through not long ago. The door south was locked so he headed east (seemingly forgetting to try his key) in pursuit of the other warrior.

Malekk the Warlock had fallen to the floor as the room around him shook and his head spun. He stood up and stumbled to a door to the north. He stopped over a pit of daggers, realising this was the way that he had already come.

The Final Chamber... part 2...
Mau held his hand to his head; something had tripped him out. Didn't he have a key? He decided to wheel and then go west, then south to try the locked door, then, if necessary, south again. Sling Mau doubled back heading west. He then tried the door handle of the door to the south. It was locked. He removed his key and tried it in the lock, a grinding noise shook the door as the handle turned. Mau swung the door open and entered...
The ninja entered a room filled with light. A cackle echoed around the void as the barbarian squinted in the brightness searching for the source of the noise. "Congratulations warrior! I am Ezam, the keeper of this labyrinth, and you have made it to the centre of my maze! But should you wish to return home you have one final challenge..."
The light shrunk into a ball and whirled around the room as the warrior ducked and darted out of it's path. The light finally settled in a corner of the room, the glow fading and an imp-like creature came into view. "A nimble one I see! But you'll have to do better than that if you wish to escape!" the imp said with a cackle.

Mau positioned himself in a fighting stance and began to bounce in readiness: it seemed he was almost out of this mess. Actually, it had been enjoyable to test his skills and sharpen his fighting tactics, but things were getting tight, and if this was the end, he figured it wouldn't be as easy as it looked. He would throw all he had into the fight, including his new, sharp sword which he had been waiting to use. He flourished it and cried, "You have a neat labyrinth, my little man, but you chose to fight the wrong warrior."
Strength 10 (+1 each blow because of the sword) Skill 10 Magic 2 (health 21, luck 4)

Mau loses 2 health (19 remaining...!)The ninja rolled away from the attack. His felt his side, it had been grazed and was bleeding but his health remained. The imp smirked "I'm only getting started" he cackled. Mau: Strength 10 + dice 2 + sword 1 = 13 Ezam: Strength 5 + dice 2 = 7... Ezam loses 6 health (3 remaining) Mau: Skill 10 + dice 5 = 15 Ezam: Skill 5 + dice 4 = 9... Ezam loses 6 health...Mau landed softly on his feet, his sword raised high. The blade sung from the contact, a strange greenish blood trickled down the blade. The warrior realised that his attacker had gone quiet. He turned to look at the imp and saw the creature spluttering on the floor, holding it's chest as more greenish blood soaked its chest. The ninja's final strike had cut a gash across the imps stomach. Ezam coughed, and more green splattered onto the cobbles, the cough transformed into a laugh, which transformed into a loud cackle "HAhAHahahHahHhahHhahhaaHAAAA!" the imp cackled "even in death you are still at my mercy!!". He removed a glowing crystal from underneath his garments and dashed it to the ground. There was a blinding flash and then the imp's body was gone. Mau was left all alone in the chamber. The room began to shudder and shake, the ground falling away at his feet. He retreated to the edge of the room, clutching onto the wall as a swirling vortex apeared where the floor had been... Soon there was no floor left to stand on and the ninja half jumped, half was sucked into the swirling vortex... ---------- Mau defeats Ezam and gains 1 luck for a succesful combat. Lil_Curt and Malekk you have (up to) 3 moves to get to the vortex... submit them via forum comment.

The doctor stumbled and staggered as the labryinth shook and rocked around him. He went east and then north. In the second chamber he saw under the increasing rumble the bodies of two warriors. One was the wizard that he had battled what seemed like an age ago, the other was a knight clad in orange. They had both been killed by vicious fangs and terrible teeth... so the Doctor didn't want to hang around and see whether the beast remained. Suddenly something caught his eye. Underneath the rubble, clutched in the knight's hand was a key... "At last!" thought the doctor, a glimmer of hope. Dazed by the labryinth however, he headed west, unbeknownst to him going in a full circle... and with a final shake of the chamber the ceiling above him caved in... ------------------ Malekk the warlock realised his initial mistake in trying to follow the barbarian. His stout opponenent had used an invisibility cloak escaping east before heading north, so the Malekk chose the same. Heading east into another empty chamber then north. He tried the door again to the north but it was locked fast. As the chamber shook he looked for another exit, but with a final rumble the floor beneath him disappeared... ----------------- The ninja known as Sling Mau opened his eyes. He blinked a few times as his fuzzy vision started to clear. A bright light shone above him, was he dead? The last thing he remembered was falling into a vortex. The swirling had stopped though his head was still spinning. The ground beneath him was soft, not like the hard cobbled floor that he had expected. He realised that it was grass. The smell and feel was familiar but seemed a distant memory. He stood to his feet and shielding his eyes from the midday sun, looked around him. A wave of recognition hit him, was he... home? He looked at the trees, and felt the warm breeze on his face. Was it possible that he had been gone a year? It had felt only a few passing moments, possibly hours in the labyrinth. A piece of parchment fluttered around his feet, blown in the summer breeze. Mau bent to pick it up, it was a map. He stuffed it into his pack and collected his sword that had fallen in the short grass beside him. Sheathing his blade he headed home. It had been too long. ----------------------- Mau escapes the labyrinth and makes it home with 13 gold and an amazing 19 health!! Malekk and the Doctor are lost to the eons of time. See the map for everyone elses journeys (if I managed to keep it accurate).

Sling Mau was glad to be home, it had been a long journey, but thanks to his skill he escaped without much harm and with a nice amount of loot, so he had enjoyed it, and saw it as a chance to improve his fighting powers. However there is no place like home, as they say, and Mau agreed as he walked through a torii towards his house.
