Global Challenge XII - Restricted - Extortion - Loreos The news of corruption amongst the lower level officials of Loreos troubled Sir Thomas greatly. After catching a Torith port official taking bribes from outlaw smugglers Thomas decided to mount an investigation. Working closely with the Torith guard Thomas had rounded up and imprisoned several corrupt dockhands, sailors, guards and even a member of the Baron's staff. Though to his disappointment, none of the men he had detained appeared to be the ringleader. As his investigation progressed Thomas's leads began to point towards the Loreesi capital of Dalmanutha. Once he arrived Dalmanutha Thomas got to work tracking down persons of interest and recording their everyday movements. For some time Thomas's stay in Dalmanutha was uneventful and it appeared that his investigation had hit a dead end, until one of his suspects, a merchant from northern Loreos entered the sewers. Rallying the guards Thomas gave chase and followed the merchant into the dimly lit tunnels. It didn't take long until they found their target, who was in the middle of receiving what appeared to be a bribe, announcing their presence Thomas and the guards began to move in surrounding the outlaws, who didn't put up much of a fight, but it was enough to allow the merchant to slip out into the adjacent tunnel and escape into the dark...

GC XII - Bignette - Extortion - Loreos
With the news of the new lands spreading across the realms of Roawia, Arturius and his companions ventured to the far north to prepare some deals with their northern friends. Of course the transactions were out of the reaches of spying eyes and the terms turned out to be far steeper than expected.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT WILL COST TWO CHESTS OF GOLD!" Exclaimed Arturius as Shirtless Bob and Paulius tried to calm him down.
"Two chests of gold. Non-negotiable. You know we are the only ones to have a fleet that wasn't attacked by the Serpent and secondly we are not Lenfel's and lastly we are in the far north so its more treacherous for us to send ships out to procure what you ask. Now that I mention these facts. Three chests of Gold...per ship" Politely replied Lord Tharbor with a grin.
"FOR THREE CHESTS I COULD BUILD THREE NEW SHIPS!" Barked Arturius in a rage.
"Yes...but it will take you another six months to have those ships ready to sail. Mine are ready now." smiled back Lord Tharbor.
With that the three Loreesi looked at each other and whispered a short conversation then Bob replied "It's a deal...but don't think we will forget or forgive this extortionate trade"
"I wouldn't dream of it" smiled Lord Tharbor as he shook their hands to seal the deal.

GCXII - Unrestricted - Extortion - Garheim-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- A Fair Deal-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- "That'll be two ships - already harbored, ready to sail - and the right to fell and keep any additional lumber ye may need," the big knight said, gesturing at the roped and staked plot of land beneath the tower as he leaned against the railing. "That is, this acre here." Hollander did his best to suppress a grin. He'd be killing two birds with one stone, if this tariff worked; the farmer with the rights to the fife had already paid the big knight labor fees for clearing the land, and he knew the Loreesi were short on timber."Yes, well the land does look good..." Benedicio replied in the heavy southern accent that usually accompanied those who hailed from the desert. The Loreesi - who claimed to be a duke or an earl or some other such title that Hollander cared little to remember - frowned, audibly sighing as he gazed out at the pines, firs, and spruces that dotted the plot of land, pressed right up against the wooded slopes of the mountains. "And I cannot deny that lumber has become quite a commodity in these times - scarce, in my country. And do not get me started on the Lenfels; the prices they demand are outrageous." "Then I take it my offer is to your liking?" "As much as a camel likes drinking from a dry riverbed, I am certain... Would not two chests suffice?" "The offer stands. Three chests. You can either accept my generosity - which you would be wise to do, as you are beginning to try my patience," Hollander replied with feigned agitation. "Or you can sail back to your homeland empty-handed or return to the Lenfels, though I am sure that their price will only have risen since your last meeting. Three chests of gold and the tariff for one acre of land. Those are your ships; right there. Your means of reaching the lands to the west: growing out of the ground." "It seems I have no other choice. You northmen drive a hard bargain." -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- Full interior and rear view on my flickr www.flickr.com/photos/94793457@N05/As always, comments and criticism are welcome and appreciated! Ronin

A question for our esteemed members of the Kings Council. I have constructed the below ship for the GC, but before I offically enter her I would like some advice on which category to enter her in. I’ve currently planned and listed her as ‘unrestricted’. Not including the bowsprit and 1x1 ‘ocean’ plates, she has a length of 65 studs by 18 studs at her widest point – which would give her a footprint of 1170 studs. This obviously puts her over the 1024 stud limit of ‘restricted’, although this is a little misleading as she is not 18 wide at all points. The bowsprit and ocean however do make ‘significant’ overhang. I’m more than happy to enter her as either category – but would appreciate some official advice so that I avoid disqualification. Thank you in advance!!

I would say put it in unrestricted. I'm not sure what the other council members will say, but from my perspective, it fits into the unrestricted category.
