Brickfair is only 9 1/2 months away! High General Mythrog mentioned he might be interested in heading up this year's collab. I thought last year's collab went exceedingly well and was glad to build and interact with all of you. This year's theme is monsters and legends. Any thoughts on that? Seems like it is a great theme to go with orcs, trolls, and other species. Was there any idea on what we would do for next year? Even if we build something, it does not have to be tied to LoR. We could just do standard castle. Or, we could make an elaborate battle scene and say it happened long ago in LoR's history; hundreds or thousands of years ago. Just some thought. I'm going to tag everyone who participated last year, just for good measure. Perhaps they will want to participate?

I'll be there, but primarily occupied with Historical builds, as usual. 2016's theme is "America 1776" for those who want to create a Revolutionary War/Declaration of Independence type of vignette. The theme for Brickfair next year is actually "Myths and Legends". So it doesn't have to be a giant Kraaken eating Loreesi...though there's some great entertainment value in that....

Ah, ok. I was thinking monsters and legends, thanks for the clearing up!
I would like to be much more involved in the revolutionary collab. Looking forward to see what you all come up with!

I'm not sure if i'll be able to attend in 16(might have a college bowling combine on the same dates, not confirmed) but i'll still like to be involved if I cant. Maybe the KC can draw up plans to have an ancient temple found on the new island or within the main continent that contains secrets to the history of Roawia. I'm thinking maybe an Egyptian-like temple built into a desert(Loresi) mountain with relics built onto the side that describe all the nations. Just an idea, what do you guys think?

I may be able to come. I would like to at least provide a small prize-pack for the collaborators!

Well, if we are collaborating that may be pretty hard to pull off. Seems like one person would do most of the building.

As you said, I'm planning on attending with my younger brother, John. I'm not sure if I'll be able to contribute to a LoR collab, but I might be able to do something small-medium for it. Depending on how busy I am before the convention, as John and I have plans for a collab between just the two of us.

i was thinking of a LoR historical base theme where its the beginning of one of the nations being formed or a fifth faction that was all or most not human-like creatures resisting the growth of the rising nations, but I'll probably not be going due to football related issues and it pretty far into the future.

We could always do a depiction of one of the "crusades" that took place early on in the game that Loreos helped rally to wipe-out the non-humans from the Magic Isle.
I also think maybe some kind of ancient battle between two nations, one human based nation, and one motley crew formation of multiple tribes of orcs, goblins, trolls, etc. battling it out could be cool.
I'm not quite fond of either of those ideas right now because they definitely need some more development, but I'd like to see what others had in mind too!
Also, better stock-up on your Monster CMFs now before they go up in price 100%-500% at BrickFair's vendor stands!

I was thinking maybe we could just build a small city/town and have a band of "monsters" (Orcs, goblins, trolls, etc.) raiding it. I would think a small, but still walled-off town/city could work fairly well if a certain standard look is derived and upheld. For my Skyrim peeps think Whiterun. For everyone else, something along these lines. I'm thinking we could potentially have lots of fire and possibly some dragon(s) flying around burning stuff. This would look great with lights too.

That would be pretty cool. The town could be in the process of being sacked/razed with the "cavalry" only just arriving and entering into the fray.

Indeed. I imagined baddies streaming in through the burning and destroyed city gates and flooding atop the walls via a few siege engines but mainly grappling hooks/ladders with more running through the streets with torches and stolen loot. I also think a good idea to implement from the Whiterun layout are the different "layers" or "levels" (Districts in-game) to the city with a main keep or fortification atop a hill somewhere towards the back of the city with cliff faces on the other side, which are themselves surrounded by impressive walls at the base. Maybe a few houses sprinkled in towards the bottom, but mainly a natural fortification reinforced by an architectural one. Something like this in theory, except with walls towards the base. The cavalry can be riding through some fields outside the village/town with crops and small farm houses already being mostly burnt down. This to me seems like a very simple but dynamic "castle" and "monster infused" collab. And if some standards are established for house structures, roads, towns' people, guards, baddies, etc. the 'look' of the entire city and layout will come across as well designed and cohesive.

Hey guys,
If I can get some LoR info cards made, would y'all be willing to give them out?
