It has been a year or two since I last insulted a Lego minifgiure with my custom work. I had originally wanted to paint some elf hair grey but being stuck at home and not having paint, I got a much more malevolent idea. The side shown in the photo is the good side. On the other side a significant amount of the flesh paint rubbed off and will have to be touched up. Does anyone have suggestions for good hairpieces to do this with? If anyone has pictures of elf hair they have made or tweaked, feel free to put them here. I'd love to learn new tricks to bring some variety to my knife ears. Elfenstein by Tony, on Flickr

So you cut the ears of the Legolas hair?
I guess his lego-loss is your lego gain.

New Elrond. The rubbery material was much easier to work with. So, no Lego-loss for Lego Legolas.

This turned out really well. Did you just cut a couple of notches into the gray hair and then glue the ears to it? This side looks really sharp. Nice job.

Yep. Nothing clever about it. The other side I had to glue several times because I couldn't quite get it in the right spot. By the time I did a lot of the flesh paint had been rubbed off from putting pressure on it. I don't know if I can find paint to touch it up with so I may end up replacing the other ear. The rubber pieces apparently have significantly less durable paint work.
