Great story update! This makes me want to pick up some bricks and start building again but I still got a ways to go till I'm reunited with my Lego.

Presumably we list our entires here? Restricted entry (24x24): Preparation - ReunionThe sound of approaching footsteps could be heard above the gentle patter of raindrops falling from the surrounding pines, hissing as they struck the last embers of a dying fire. "I thought I'd find you here." "You thought you'd find me here. In this forest." Sithric just stared at the newcomer. Goodall grinned and stared back. "Sure. I just asked the locals if they could point me to the worst shelter they'd ever seen, and here you are." A branch in Sithric's hastily-erected canopy creaked in sympathy. "I heard about Garheim. Nasty business." "That reminds me. Where were you and the rest of the Company whilst I was out there busting my guts?" "Ah - that is what I have come all this way to tell you..." Thanks for viewing!

Neat Global Challenge! The deadline seems short though, only 1 month? and SpearralSquid ... The KC Has Spoken....and April 30th stands as the deadline. A month is fairly standard. So get building now guys!Holy short deadline, Batman! Time to get cracking, once the MA is over at least.

Post by Sir Caedric Moore on Mar 30, 2015 19:45:59 GMT -8
Presumably we list our entries here? Oops - forgot to do that The Journey back from Lenfald had been uneventful but Caedric Moore, Captain of the Valeguard, couldn't complain. The monotony of constant traveling had gotten to him and he was glad to turn his gaze and his boots back to Mother Garheim. The snows of winter had begun to melt as he traveled the road north from Stonehedge, and Caedric and his fiance Erin reveled at the first wildflowers of spring that thrust through the blanket of white like spears raised to the gods. Upon returning to Orevale, however, Caedric soon learned that other spears were being raised, although these were of wood and steel and they had but one purpose. News of unrest among the Southern factions was on everyone's lips, yet the Captain of the Valeguard took solace and even allowed himself a margin of pride at the unity showcased by the citizens of Orevale Hold. Had Caedric's liege lord and adoptive father Elson Moore still walked the Earth, Caedric knew he would have been proud of the city his son had rebuilt - of the people who called that land home.
He was brought from his reverie by three solid knocks on the heavy oaken doors to his right."Come in." "Good morrow, Captain," the big knight said, stepping through the low arch that led to the library. "Figured I'd find you up here." "And I'm glad you did, Layton - I was starting to doze off." Caedric rose from his seat among the shelves and grabbed his crossbow from where it sat amidst piles of books. He had been spending a lot of time in the north tower of Castle Valeguard since his return to Garheim, pouring over tomes and scrolls in search of something - anything - that could help him in his quest."Well?" "Well what, Layton?" Caedric asked as he closed the oaken doors behind him with a resounding thud that echoed through the rafters of the tower and down the spiral staircase. A gust of cold wind filled his lungs and he breathed it in deeply; he had spent too much time among the dusty alcoves and he was glad for fresh air."Did you find anything about the beast that attacked our troops when we reclaimed Garheim? About the dragon?" "Not yet, but I'm bound to find something soon. Anyways, Layton; I trust you didn't trudge all the way up here to talk about dragons." "Actually, I did, Caedric. I just got an owl from Hollander in the Wulfguard. It's been sighted on the driftplains north of Black Loch." "Hmm. Just what we need. Tensions between the Lenfels and Loreesi are high as they've ever been, many of Garheim's lords are losing faith in Jarl Eindrik, and now we've got a dragon to deal with." It had been months since they had reclaimed Orevale from the Usurper Queen, but Caedric remembered it like it was yesterday. The sound of leathern wings beating the air, a roar like thunder, and the flames... If the dragon was back, it was a threat that had to be dealt with. This time, things would be different. This time, they would be ready."Layton," Caedric pondered. "Have Bjern and Jeurgenson run the new recruits through drills with long spears and have Marley and my sister run the archers through drills with the siege crossbow." "Aye, Captain." "Then, go to the armorers and have them begin smithing more Darksteel Mail. We'll need heavy plate, but flanged for mobility; great-shields and full helms, as well." "Aye." "And one more thing, Layton," Caedric said with a look as though something had just dawned on him. "Send an owl to Dunharris at once and request a meeting with Sir Ian. Perhaps the "Drake's Bane" can shed some insight into how to deal with such a creature." -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- Comments and criticism welcome Ronin

OK, I got another question, does the bignette have to be exactly 16x16 studs just like the vignette had to be exactly 8x8? Or must it be 16x16 or less?

Exactly 16x16. It's meant to have the same challenges as the 8x8, only with a 16x16 footprint.

Just to clarify, we are able to have irregular based builds, right? As long as they're within a 16x16 or 32x32 footprint, right?

I would say yes but please identify which size category it fits in, as sometimes it's hard to tell, and the first time we catch any Outlaw, er, someone stretching the rules then we'll have to revert to the actual sizes.

So wait, the 16x16 bignette can be irregular as long as the studs equal 16x16? Or did I read wrong? Also, what about borders?

I didn't want to open up a Can o' Chaos here but apparently I did. The 16x16 can be irregular but better well add up to 256 studs total. As with the vignette, no border overlap allowed.

What do you mean by border overlap? The rules said very minimal overhang allowed and in the past that included borders. I hope that doesn't mean my build is disqualified
